I wouldn't quit, but have seen precisely what you are referring to. I could nudge the opponent countless times, but at their last possible minute, they play the next round. Strange, isn't it?

Hello guys. Thank you for letting us know of these inconveniences. We would like to inform you, we are currently aware of this matter, as several other users have been reporting it. Just as Glenn has mentioned, we are currently analysing the situation, in order to be able to resolve it as soon as possible. While we understand your point of view, please keep in mind each user will be provided 36 hours to respond to a match, and unfortunately, we cannot make them do so before time. Nevertheless, considering the situations you guys are reporting, we will work towards implementing new mechanisms that will speed up the matches, and this way avoid users being affected by these type of situations. We will keep you posted on this. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you. Have a wonderful day!

36 hours PER TURN is ludicrous by ANY measure.  Under pressure I suppose 24 can be argued for but I still feel that is too much.  We're not Neanderthals playing a game of checkers with rocks in a field, we're high tech people with tiny computers in our pockets.  We can handle playing a game we intentionally started in a timely, CONSIDERATE and sportsman's like timeframe.  People who abuse that timer should not get to do so for the entire game.  I PROMISE you NOBODY except a brazen cheater would complain if you made it cumulative.

How about this:  How about someone give me a logical argument why they need 36 hours PER TURN???  Go ahead, try and make that argument.

Glenn, your Neanderthal checkers comment is hilarious 😂 Time limit should be 12 hours or less IMO. I’ve resigned many games just to get rid of the frustrating non-players.

Amen to both. Why in heck do these people sign on to play the game if they are not checking back and playing the next round in a timely manner? I currently have 3 opponents in my queue with less than 10 hours to play their round. Just give the win if they cannot respond in 1 day. this is too long to wait.

When you quit after round 2, you give them the win and you give yourself the loss.  No way am I doing that.  I don't care if the game takes 6 months, I'll never quit and I still report each and every one of them to Etermax.  I just wish they would fix the problem.  I doubt they're doing anything.

Just a side question:  when I play on my iPad or iPhone, am I only playing others with the app on their phone or could I also be playing people from the PC and MAC world on their home computers through Facebook?

Pretty sure you’re playing with others on numerous devices and app versions. Back to the dubious “players”...Why does Etermax even include a stat for resigned games? What’s the useful purpose? It’s like a psychological experiment, as Glenn originally mentioned, testing if and how often we’ll quit.

I understand getting frustrated when you want people to take their turn but I have friends who I’ve been playing for years and I take a day or three between turns and they’re happy that I do. They don’t want me to beat them more often than I do. I like being able to play at the pace I choose.

Mike, so you think it's okay that you get 36 hours between EACH turn?  If so, then you think it's okay to use LITERALLY every second of that 36 hours every turn in hopes that your opponent quits??  That is what we're talking about here.  That is what at least 30% of the people playing are doing now.  They have to be using a bot because you can watch the seconds before forfeit count down to near zero and then all of a sudden BING it's green and your turn - they do that EVERY SINGLE TURN.

No, sorry, if you're the collateral damage in a logical change to prevent that, I'm okay with it.

I used to play several times a day and my queue was loaded with 30 or so games. The game format now drives me nuts. I won’t play on my phone because I goofed and updated it. My iPad is still usable, so I’ll play there.  I don’t usually play people who let their games time out or drag on, but since Etermax has made it so difficult to see what’s happening, I have let some expire.

I took a break for a couple of months and recently came back.  I started about 8 or so games.  It seems better now, out of those I only found one cheating with the delay of game exploit.  I don't know if Etermax actually did something but I like that it got better.  I'm going to start another round of games, hopefully it stays this way or better.

Hello Glenn997! Thank you so much for your comment! We are glad to know you have seen an improvement in this matter. We have indeed worked to improve and prevent all potential cheating within the application. Bear in mind, if you ever come across any user that you believe may be cheating in the game, to report them with their username so that we can take the corresponding measures and investigate on each particular situation. We appreciate your feedback. We wish you have a great day!
